With great honor, the OiER-Team in Vienna welcomed an esteemed delegation of the Republic of Angola to the Vienna headquarters. The visit was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Angola in Vienna, which invited high-ranking representatives from the government, various organizations and authorities, as well as business representatives to discuss the subjects of transforming Angola’s cities to become smart and more sustainable.
The twelve-member delegation was headed by H.E. Mr. Bornito de Sousa Baltazar Diogo, Vice-President of the Republic of Angola.
His Excellency was accompanied by H.E. Mr. José Maria Varela Gomes Borges, Director of the Office of the Vice-President of the Republic; H.E. Mr. Téte António, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs; H.E. Mr. António Fernandes Rodrigues Belsa da Costa, Secretary of State for Energy; H.E. Mr. Mário Augusto da Silva Oliveira, Secretary of State for Telecommunications as well as the Ambassador to the Republic of Austria in Vienna, H.E. Ms. Teodolinda Rodrigues Coelho.
The delegation was briefed on United Smart Cities, and how this multi-stakeholder program can support cities in Angola to accelerate and implement sustainable urban projects and solutions and to promote investments and concrete solutions to the cities priority sectors.
The members of the delegation showed great interest in the explanations and discussions with the OiER-Team in Vienna, which was reflected in the many questions asked about the program. OiER hopes the successful dialogue is set to continue in the near future, and will lead to a future cooperation between the Republic of Angola and OiER.
